Historic W.C. Fields Estate in Laughlin Park

Historic W.C. Fields Estate in Laughlin Park

Just because I’m immune to the crazy impersonators that line the sidewalk of Hollywood Boulevard doesn’t mean I’m unaffected by all things Tinseltown. For instance, it’s always fun when a a property from Hollywood’s golden past comes onto the market. So, this week’s prize in that category of listings goes to the W.C.Fields estate in the Laughlin Park gated community in Los Feliz. Built in 1920, this Mediterranean Revival mansion is clear evidence of Fields’ stature back in the day. A humble little abode this is not. Completely private and secure, this grand estate is tucked away on nearly 3/4 of an acre and features details in craftsmanship that aren’t found in today’s homes. And while all of its original details have been beautifully restored, the home is also loaded with modern luxuries. The property was on the market very briefly 3 years ago. If you missed out on the chance to buy it back then, your timing is great because the current asking price is significantly less than the former $11MM price tag.

I guess this is where WC, Mae West and others tossed back a drink or two after a long day on the set.
