Frank Gehry – The Benson House in Calabasas

When hearing the name Frank Gehry, many Angelenos may conjure images of sweeping, irregular angles and curves with shiny metallic surfaces thanks in no small part to the Disney Concert Hall, one of his more well-known contributions to L.A. Of course, there is a long list of famous structures by Gehry that have embraced this unique style, including the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao and Experience Music Project in Seattle. So, when seeing one of his smaller projects, in particular a modestly sized single family residence, one might think it holds little resemblance to the work of Gehry that they’re familiar with.
