Magic Hour at Griffith Observatory

Magic Hour at Griffith Observatory

Griffith ObservatoryGriffith Observatory

Like an ever present sentinel, the Griffith Observatory stands watch over our lovely city day in and day out. For those of us that live in Los Feliz, its presence is a special gift and a spur of the moment visit to it is just a short drive or a healthy hike away. Yesterday, L.A. was getting a cleaning thanks to the weather and the skies were overcast through most of the day. But by late afternoon, the skies began to clear and there is no better place in LA to capture the vistas of our city during the magic hour than from the observatory. So, off I went with my camera in tow to capture a few images of our wonderland.  Here they are in the order they were snapped as the sun was taking its leave for the day.

As the sun faded away, the temporary lighting provided for the remote parking spaces was almost as magical.
