There have been a lot of interesting listings this week, architecturally speaking.  I was going to create a post about a snazzy little home by Richard Banta in the hills that came on the market earlier this week, but then I saw that the Bergren Residence by John Lautner has just been listed, which I think is a worthy preemption. This home was last sold in 2004, so I’m pretty jazzed about it becoming available.

This modest-sized home is sited to capture both city and mountain views. According to my references it was built in 1953 (though the listing cites it as 1951) and is a great example of the unique edginess that Lautner brought to residential architecture.
